Mosquito were appointed by Manchester City Council to develop
the website for the launch of Manchester's first day parade 'Out of
this World'. The parade website needed a quick turnaround so
appointed Mosquito for the fast, agile and responsive digital and
design service we offer.
'Out of this World' took place on 20th June, the
spectacular event saw 75,000 people lining the streets of
Manchester with an additional 1,800 people taking part from over 80
different community groups, charities and companies across
Manchester. This unique and original parade was about celebrating
what the city's resident's love about their city, the dreams it
inspires and then bringing it all to life.
Working with the Manchester City Council's in house design team,
M4, Mosquito brought the 'Out of this world' characters to life
through motion graphics and flash animation. This colourful display
of moving characters and carnival theme was how we envisaged the
event, which of course did not disappoint. The streets were lined
with extraordinary floats, costume dancers, inflatables, larger
than life characters, acrobats and performers.
Anthony Diver, Director Mosquito commented: "This
spectacular display of colour, energy and celebration was a credit
to the residents of Manchester. The parade was created by residents
of Manchester working together to celebrate pride in our City; I
hope this will become an annual fixture in the Manchester
calendar."
